Volunteer: Free Radio Berkeley Needs Your Help

Volunteer apprentice positions are also available at our West Berkeley location. A great opportunity to: learn basic electronics; gain an understanding of broadcast engineering; be involved in the setting up and construction of FM broadcast transmitters and other related equipment.

We set up a fundraising and outreach table at various events. Volunteers are needed to staff this table or hand out flyers. At some events we will also set up a micropower broadcast station as well.

To assist with our ongoing funding, publicity, and outreach efforts, you are invited to join our resource development committee that is planning a number of fundraising and publicity events. Further, it is working on creating a long term plan to sustain Free Radio Berkeley's ongoing efforts to liberate the airwaves.

For those with web based skills, your abilities are needed to help us upgrade our web site.

Further volunteer/apprentice opportunities will become available as we set up a community access multimedia (digital video and audio) facility at out West Berkeley location in association with the San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center.

The San Francisco Bay Area Independent Media Center (http://sf.indymedia.org) is part of the global, internet based, grassroots media network comprised of at about 60 independent media centers.
